Mini Nativity

I used Delica beads and the pattern is from Thread A Bead.  The figure are 1.34"x 0.8". I have yet to decide how to display them.

I had made a 3-D knitted set and perforated paper stand up set. Or better said I collect patterns of Nativity sets. All of these are figurines. I have a pattern book for macrame, twisted paper kits, crochet, and 3-D cross stitch. I have also start collecting pattern using delica from Beaded Balloons I have three of the patterns and yet to buy the beads.

I would like to make Nativity sets using different method of stitching or craft method.

Stitching and Beading

Mine 300th post

These are the things I am stitching and beading.

Traditional Japanese Embroidery “Flower Ball”.

Kissing Pillows

The two following project from Thread a Bead a place I buy and download pattern.

I will be start beading Nativity Charms there are twelve of them size 1.34” x .80”

Also Festive Balls Christmas Ornament almost finish have to wait until I can find the bigger beads, I know where they are I think not enough to tell someone to find them in the basement without someone bring box after box up. Mine mobility is limited right now because wearing a walking boot and using a walker because of arthritis in ankle also keep weight off I was told. I have yet to go crazy find out on the Dec. 13 hope by them able to use the ankle more and it only been about a week.

I change the pattern some less panels. Each will be their ornament.

This is what I use to bead from a recliner. It came with a cushion attach to the bottom fill with bean bag stuff.

Black Boot

I was thing about getting a pair comfortable black boots low heel that look good, but not just one black boot. Arthritis is not good. When I went to the doctor on Thursday (I was having pain deep in the ankle) I was just thinking it was just the hardware that was in the ankle from breaking it on Dec. 2, 2008. It is arthritis so I came home with the boot, and medicine (Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), with instruction use a walker and come back in two weeks. A walker is not fun in a house with stairs and when you spent most of your time on the lower levels.

I am now sit up in the living room in a recliner with CD player I like audio books (when it will read the disk sometime NOT) I can use a laptop to transfer the CD to a ipod the listen to disk it not the same. I have a beading project that I can work on luckily it was on my a lap tray so it was deliver to me. I will be in good shape until I run out of beads and who I send in search of the needed beads cannot find them. I have mine stitching lamp brought up also. I am trying to be good and keep the boot on and using the walker not to go to the basement where most of mine stitching thing located. That is were CD disk cleaning disk is at someplace next time I will send some different in search of it.

But I have yet to decide to just goes down a few steps to get to mine Japanese Embroidery I will use a cane. There is no place to move it upstairs. I have just have gotten in a good habit of stitching every morning and making good progress. I miss working on my piece.

Stitching Story - Japanese Embroidery

Japanese Embroidery

Why I started doing Japanese Embroidery because I wanted something challenging. I been doing some type of stitching most of my life. I had tried most method of stitching done on counted fabric, canvas, non-counted fabric, beading off loom, crochet, knitting, tatting, and others that done in hand and still doing some of them. That where I came up with the name of my blog “Work in Hand”.
In 2000 I join CyberStitchers so I started attending EGA seminars, I also attended a couple of ANG seminar, before that I attended different festival for several years always wanting trying something new and taking classes at home when there was a shop. Then I took a Rozashi class taught by Margaret Kinsey in 2005 EGA National Seminar was in Atlanta. That year I also visited the Japanese Embroidery Center (JEC).
In Jan. 2006, I went JEC, teacher Karen L. Plater, started “Bouquet from the Heart of Japan”. Then in 2007, I attended National Academy of Needlearts (NAN), where Shay Pendray was teaching “Shay’s Stitch Buffet” I was still working on “Bouquet from the Heart of Japan”. Then I attend classes that Shay was having near her home twice a year in Troy, MI, also Diane Horschak was helping there at Troy. I been going to NAN most years and going to Troy at least twice a year.
What I have accomplish in Japanese Embroidery:
“Bouquet from the Heart of Japan” started Jan. 6, 2006
“Bouquet from the Heart of Japan” finished Feb. 1,2008
“Hiho Fan” started Feb. 2, 2008
“Sake Box” started Sep. 24, 2008
“Hiho Fan” finished June 24, 2009
“Camellias” started June 9, 2011
“Sake Box” finished Nov 10, 2011
“Flower Ball” started May 15, 2012
“Camellias” finished June 15, 2012
