Goals should I do them

I looking back at the goals I made for this year. What happened.

What did I get finish? I finish 12 beaded Christmas ornaments, one birth sampler, few crochet scarves for charity, beaded eggs and other new other new projects.

Sake Box still a work in progress. Need to get more done before I can start Pansy.

CC Temari Ball never got started but I did buy a DVD on how to make them and some pre wrap balls. The other CC course Humming Bird and Honeysuckles like the design but did not attempt to get started.

Embroidered Letters about finish one but had not work on them for a few months.

The others birth samplers four of them I need to figure out what I am going to stitch.

UFO are still UFO.

Should I make goals again?

  1. You did finish quite a bit! I am all for goals, although I don't do very good with them.

  2. I like to make a couple of goals each year...makes me feel good when they are accomplished and leaves lots of time for whatever I decide to stitch

  3. Hey Mary,

I'm a big believer that in order to get things done, you have to have goals. Otherwise, at the end of the year you may look around and say, what have I done with the year?

My number one goal is to realize that (for me) the joy of stitching is about the journey, not the finishing. Perhaps instead of saying - I am going to finish Sake Boxes (which is a HUGE undertaking - mine has been WIP for over 2 years now) you could decide that 2011 is the year you'll finish the Noshi ribbons? OR I'm going to get the slant on the Chrysanthemums just right rather knock out all 21+.

You've gotten much done in 2010 and I've loved watching your work. Thank you so much for sharing it.
